The Kueh Koci banana leaf weave frame is inspired from an Asian and peranakan way of wrapping the glutinous rice into the leaf intersection by overlapping both leaf ends and creating a trianguler 'bucket'. After fillling the 'bucket' with two spoons of rice, the open surface is then covered by folding out both ends of the long leaf along the shape of the 'bucket' and securing it strategically by tying around it with a thin rope and it is ready to be steamed and consumed later on.
